Nursing Assistant Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including teaching hospitals, nursing homes, and critical care environments. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care while assisting with daily living activities and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Support nursing staff in providing care for patients in inpatient settings, including PICU and urgent care.
Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems like Cerner.
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients with developmental disabilities.
Assist in mobility and transportation of patients within the facility.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of patient environments.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient needs and changes in condition.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of patient care practices in various settings such as nursing homes or critical care units is a plus.
Familiarity with medical records management and electronic health record systems (e.g., Cerner).
Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a relevant training program is required.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.91 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
